Thanks for posting the article Dennis! In Washington State by law a sign has to be posted warning you of Traffic Infraction Cameras so your rights are not violated. There is a lot of these in school zones and mounted on school buses and they are activated when the school buses red lights are on to pick up or let children off buses. The City of Seattle has a dedicated police cruiser that is equipped with license plate recognition cameras they use in downtown and other high crime areas in the city. The Washington State Patrol was using a fake roadside survey crew on I-90 several years ago in construction zones with lasers or radar mounted on there tripods to catch speeders. Washington State and there City's use radar to balance there budgets.
