I was in the same boat just months ago. I know enough people with auto systems that have to fine tune after the "auto" program runs or the auto simply does not work and they have to manually adjust anyway. I decided on the platinum for the following:
1. cost savings was substantial (got it when they were running a large sale on platinum specifically)
2. auto systems seem to need manual adjustments anyway
3. weight savings - the auto system uses a pump for each jack, platinum uses one pump. Not much, but every little bit helps
That all being said you can't go wrong either way. Just my thought process when I made the decision. Love the system by the way!!
