bilstein vs Monroe RV shocks

Are Bilstein shock over Kill and would Monroe RV shocks work as well??

I have a 1998 Ford Class C and I don't think the shock have ever been change. Even though they look good I am trying to get a better ride.
Any help would be good.

    Monroe shocks are softer than Bilstein. We have a lot of very rough roads around here and love the softer ride. Mine had bilstein shocks but they were just to hard a ride for us.

    I installed HD Monroes on the front of my RAM 2500. They are too soft. When I am towing and come to a stop, the front end bounces up and down. Same when driving down the road, the front end floats.
    I should have gone with the Bilsteins. I had them on my previous truck and they worked well. I was too cheap, I mean frugal, no I mean cheap at the time.
