Black Holding Tank Heating Pad coming loose on my Motor Home

black holding tank heating pad coming loose on my Hurricane. The leading edge of the heating pad on my black holding tank is starting to come loose has anyone found a Solution to repair this? Adhesive, Tape, or Glue. There must be something instead of having to buy new $$$.

  • There are very few adhesives that will stick to the polyethylene or polypropylene plastic that your black tank is made of. Check with the maker of your heating pad.
  • Go to Napa and get some Hi-Temp silicone. It works great for attaching heater pads to hydraulic tanks, transmission pans, oil pans etc. Clean the tank and loose pad well with something that won't hurt the tank or pad such as several doses of Simple Green.

    When you apply it, don't apply too much so that it forms a layer between the tank and the pad. Use something to roll on the pad to force out the excess. Then if you can, use something like a s**** piece of plywood to keep the pad pressed to the tank while the silicone is drying. Let sit for 24 hours.
