Took out the 'nozzle'...

removed it from the pex fitting...

Cleaned out the 'stoppage' with lots of simple green & BLEACH...

Ugh...

Flushed out the pex line...

Cleaned up the 'puddle of stoppage' & rinsed the area with BLEACH...

ugh...

Reinstalled the nozzle & tested...

works great..!!..

Reinstalled in the tank with silicone as was before...

Tested...

Nice... We have a tank flush system again..!!..

How long to flush the tank? I usually let mine flush until the tank is 3/4 full then empty it and do it several times. It usually takes 10 minutes to fill to 3/4 but that depends on your water flow and I watch the tank level indicators really closely. This seems to keep the tank clean and problem free.

That all depends. It could be as little as a minute or two or, 10 minutes, depending on if you think you've got "solids" that you're having a hard time getting out of the tank. Since the tanks are not "glass or, clear plastic" it's hard to tell if a flush from a built in flushing system is doing its job or not. It's kind of a trial and error thing.

If you can get to the spray nozzle, disconnect the hose and see if there is water flow when the hose is attached. If no flow, the vacuum breaker is the problem; if flow the nozzle itself is the issue. My spray head is attached with three screws and silicone sealant. It can be removed and cleaned. I increased the hole size to 1/16". Re-installed with no further problems. JM2¢...

Just wondering, what kind, year model, make and type of coach is all this on?? The reason I ask is because some of us may have the exact same coach and it may be plumbed the same way. Other wise many of us are guessing. Ours is an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the 330 CAT and, it has the black tank flush system. Not sure just how accessible all of your plumbing, lines etc. is beyond the point at which the hose hooks up (our is not too accessible) so, checks in the check valve etc. are not all that easy to get to.

In the mean time, the good ole' tank "wand" that you can get at Camping World and many other RV supply outlets usually does a great job. You can use that until you get your regular flush system working correctly. Be careful about applying too much pressure to that system when trying to flush. It may be that the check valve, as has been stated, is corroded shut and, you might think you need excessive pressure to break that thing loose so, take some care in doing something like that. Good luck.
