black water tank flush

I've never had one of these. I hooked up the water hose to the tank flush, but all that happened when I turned on the water was a little water trickled out from the connection. I am assuming there should be a flow of water into the black tank, and stuff should be coming out the pipe. Any thoughts?

  • The sprayer in the tank could be clogged. Ours gradually took longer and longer to rinse the tank over 8 years, then last year it quit when I let the tank get overly full. I had to pull a panel in our wet bay to gain access to the top of the tank. I then pulled the sprayer out and drilled the nozzle holes slightly larger, using a 1/16" bit, as I recall. On remounting the sprayer, it has worked great ever since. I also added one to our B+ last summer, in that case the sprayer is mounted high on the side of the tank rather than in the top.
  • How long did you let it run? If it's on a used MH and hasn't been used for a while, maybe where it enters the black tank is clogged with dried scrap and needs to have water run through it for a while to loosen things up?
