I have blown out the water lines in our various motorhomes for almost 30 years. Prior posts have described the procedure. Just take your time and you will be fine. For the past 10 years I have also removed any water in the traps with a turkey baster with tubing attached and just suck it out. As long as all the holding tanks are dry and clean you won't have any issues. Only antifreeze I use now is a little bit in the toilet bowl so the seal doesn't dry out. If I recall, many years ago it was an RV dealer that told me to just blow the water out. Besides, that's what folks do with underground sprinkler systems up here. They do need a lot more air volume though.

Takes me around 20 minutes with the air compressor too. And I really didn't like the funny taste of the pink for several days after I tried that method. Not really concerned about the health effects...it just tastes bad.

And using air was good to at least -70°F up in Fairbanks Alaska over 3 winters. That was one of my concerns about the pink, BTW. Up there it's hard to find pink that's good to below -40°F but the town regularly gets to -55°F at night ($25/gallon for the reallllly low temp stuff)...for weeks at a time.

So much easier to drain WH turn on bypass and pump pink, push center of city water inlet until pink flows. Turn off pump, open all faucets plus add to drains. Takes 20 minutes and good to -50F. No P.... around with compressors, air hoses, city water adapters, extension cords etc. etc. No worrying about compressor oil or contamination from the compressor hose, even though you are paranoid about having a clean water hose.
Just to stop the naysayers, anti-pinkers etc... I pink and drink, have for many years and still have all bodily functions, hair, etc. etc.

I buy a brass garden hose adapter X 1/2"IPT then a brass 1/2" X 1/4" threaded bushing and a 1/4" air chuck adapter. screw it all together and a $30-$50 air compressor (got mine at Tractor supply use it for bike tires also) and a hose set the regulator at +/- 30 psi and you are good to go.

Isn't the air coming out of a oil less compressor, as clean as the air going in???? I think so.

I repeat, if they sell oil free air compressors doesn't that seem to hint that there are some that are not oil free. IIRC I bought one. and no, air coming out of a non oil free compressor is not as clean as the air going in, that is why some uses specify oil free.

I have been motorhoming for 40 years. for 38 of those years I got by with blowing out my lines with only one minor problem that being a cracked waterpump because the water stayed in the pump. Now to the real lesson 2 years ago I bought a newer motorhome with more stuff in it. I blew it our as I have always done and come spring began putting the unit back in service. water poured from places it wasn'lt supposed to. I began replacing what I could but got to an area I couldn't reach. The bottom line it finially cost me just kunder $1000 to fix my leaks. Now I ALWAYS blow out the lines then add tdhe pink stuff to the lines. It's cheap insurance, doesn'lt cost a whole lot and takes no more time really.

For me , I do this ,not to miss even one drop of water, put RV , the pink stuff in the lines.then no questions . And now it's all happy-camping
