Blue Ox Tiger Trac

The Blue Ox Tiger Trac for Class C motorhomes is a good product. But I have never seen a motorhome with the stabilizer installed. Seems to be for longer motorhomes around 30 ft. Shorter motorhomes seem to do fine without it. I have noticed the Ford factory tail wag stabilizer on ambulances and E-450 van buses. The Ford unit is factory installed and expensive.

I installed one, on our 2002 E450 chassis, and I echo Mike's words to the syllable. It would be Very Very easy to build a home-made Track Bar. IF there was a bolting location on the Frame Rail. But there isn't on E-Series hence that confusing Frame Clamp.
I actually called Blue Ox to ask for help with mine and got a call back from Ralph, who said he actually designed the bars. The two tips he gave me were:
    1. Be sure not to pinch an wiring, fuel lines, etc.
    2. Be sure the clamp is all the way hard against the crossmember. Hammer it if needed. If the clamp's against the crossmember, then the bar will operate without interfering with the Fuel Tank or the Differential Cover.
The BlueOx is the same series of bars as Henderson's LineUp and another company (Brazzel?) sells, just under different names, model numbers and paint color. The BlueOx TigerTrac TT2402 is Henderson's SuperSteer SS402. For the newer E450's change "402" to "450."
I added the TracBar after upgrading the OEM Sway Bars to Hellwig 1-3/8" front and 1-1/2" rear. Those bars made an enormous difference, both driving and camping. The TracBar helped still more with the driving, especially with Toad. Not so much without.
  • I've installed it on two e450 motorhomes. Makes a big difference in the handling. The install is not difficult with the right tools. The frame clamp install is somewhat confusing and takes a little time to figure out, at least it did for me.
