I think the only way you can identify where the original sofa was secured to the floor is to cut the carpet perpendicular to the m/o wall just inside the length of the sofa and not to the inside measurement of the sofa. That way the carpet will still remain intact and you can visualize where the original holes are located. Just an idea. The holes are so small it will virtually be impossible to find without the carpet lifted. Hope this idea works for you.
I want to restuff my sofa in my 1989 Bounder but haven't got the motivation yet. My sofa has a metal pipe frame and it has like pipe brackets with two holes on each of the 4 brackets.
