Did a similar bonehead and not only cut into the fiberglass on the side, I was pulling forward, kept going, and pulled the whole end cap off the fiver! $10,000 and a month later I was back on the road. Fortunately insurance paid most of it. A body shop did the fiberglass repair while a RV shop replaced the rear cap.
