Dutch 12078 you are correct that it had nothing to do with the decision. It was just the time to stop that part of our lives. We also found a place to stay that fit the budget and fuel is one of the smallest cost of RVing. We always said it was a lifestyle and what a lifestyle is was for us.

With gas at $2.60 and diesel at $3.00 (in AZ), who can afford to RV anymore? Also, there's an apparent increase in RV's on the road and no increase in RV parks. Might be lots more folks hanging it up.
I don't think fuel prices or park availability had much to do with Wally's decision. When gas was $4.00+ 10 years ago, all many of us did was travel less and stay longer in one place to mitigate the cost. A $1.00/gallon increase only adds $125 to a 1,000 mile trip at 8 MPG. Certainly not enough to run me off the road. And park availability isn't that big an issue if you plan far enough ahead for longer stays and are flexible enough in your plans for shorter stops.
