It's an easy install with a Prodigy and a Ford Pigtail. The one I installed (Explorer but still a Ford) taught me that the chassis power to the Controller is NOT through the Ignition Switch. In other words, HOT all the time unless you pull the fuse (probably underhood) or disconnect the battery. I found out after I'd taped all the Pigtail wires together to fish behind the dash and the controller would not work once I was done.
So, disconnect Battery or Pull Fuse before starting the job. Good practice anyway.
I think Ford Pigtail is still Four Wires in a Square Pattern. If you have it before you start, it'll help you recognize the connector in the wiring harness.
