Brand new water pump now losing pressure.
Last week, I found that my water pump (under my rear corner bed) was leaking. I had noticed that the water pressure had been dropping and it was taking longer for the toilet to fill when I pressed the pedal, etc. Then I noticed dampness, looked under the bed, found puddles, tried to troubleshoot it myself, gave up and went to a mechanic.
Got the new water pump. The guy showed me that it was leaking around a gasket. I think they could have just replaced the gasket, but they ran to get another pump from an RV place. I wasn't at an RV place but I trust the mechanic where I went.
So $200 later, I have a new water pump. Water pressure is what's expected in an RV but there was no wow factor. It worked fine and then a few days later, I noticed the pump got way louder the longer I held the foot pedal down on the toilet, refilling it with some water after being flushed.
The louder noise thing passed, but we're back to slow toilet filling and faucet flow that starts normal but fades way back. No water anywhere around the water pump or under either sink. I want to cry. I can NOT afford another water pump issue this month.
I'm still paying back the loan my niece gave to me to BUY this old heap! (1985 Rockwood.)
I need help! I can't find a water filter ANYWHERE. Is that normal? I just started living in this old girl on the 19th or so of June. I sanitized the fresh water tank with bleach and flushed it all out. Could I have harmed something by leaving the bleach in for a couple of days?
Please, I need folks with wisdom and experience. Give me some ideas on what to look for. I won't run the pump anymore until I have ruled some things out or found the problem. Thank you.
