We've owned (3) new Newmars, a '00 Dutchstar gasser, a '03 Kountry Star diesel, and our current one, an '08 Kountry Star diesel. All 3 have had the Brute Tek roof, if we were buying new today and we had a choice between BriteTek and fiberglass I'd probably pick BriteTek again.
We had the choice when we ordered our '08 and based on our experience we chose it again. We have never regretted that decision.
I will also say we have had a true rubber roof in the past, I wouldn't be interested in another.
BriteTek is a completely different material.
As far as pros and cons, the pros are it is virtually maintenance free, it's tough, it's quiet, it has a long track record of excellent service.
As far as cons, there are none. If I had to come up with one I'd say it too often gets lumped in with rubber by those who aren't educated on it.
