The shop said the coil spring was causing the noise because it was not seated properly. They said the front end was fine and the realigned it. I believed the noise was coming from the slide.
“I was heading home from a trip out west with my wife and 10 year old GS and just got off rt 30 and started to enter hwy71 when I hit a bump in the road and my left front end let go.”
“Holy $hit Gary, was that the noise you were hearing? What let go ball joint. Glad everyone is ok.”
After reading through this thread, I have to ask. Had your RV been “speaking” to you before the front end finally failed catastrophically? Things seldom ever fail without warning, but the driver has to listen, investigate, and take appropriate action when something seems amiss. You were lucky such a catastrophic failure didn’t lead to a real tragedy, one that no amount of money on earth could correct.
