I adamantly disagree, this is more than coulda shoulda… it’s only by the grace of God that the steering didn’t fail at high speed. The OP paid to have a professional mechanic look into the problem, a professional mechanic, not the hillbilly neighbor, or the brother-in-law that changes his own oil but a professional mechanic. Being a professional commands a higher wage but at the same time carries the weight of more responsibility to do the work properly. They need to be held to the same higher standard that they’re charging for.
