Broken Thetford toilet - replace part or entire toilet?

We have a standard Thetford toilet in our nexus 28p. The ball valve flap does not open or close when the foot pedal is depressed. It is not stuck in any way. It is out of warranty. My question is ...

Someone posted a web site on here a while back about a replacement toilet for $88, I think it was a Thetford. I replaced my valve twice for about $50/valve and fixed the blade seal twice. If I new about the $88 toilet I would have just bought it instead of replacing parts.
