Buddy messed up...

My buddy recently bought his first RV - a 2014 Entegra Aspire. He sold his house and they took off for Alaska. Along the way they stopped at a little mom and pop convenience store to top off the tank. He saw the green nozzle and put in about 40 gallons.

He made it down the road about 100 miles and the engine started running "funny". He pulled into a rest area and shut it down. He tried the generator to see if it would run and it ran for a bit and then quit.

After trouble shooting, he eventually checked the receipt for the fuel and found out the green handle had been E85 Ethanol. After a lot of back and forth with Good Sam he and the mechanic eventually drained the tank of about 70 gallons, changed out the filters, and blew out the lines. The put in about 10 gallons of diesel, got it running and he took off.

He's still driving it, but I'll bet he has major problems later on. I can't imagine all that gas playing well with the injectors, sensors, etc. My Dad's hired hand put gas in our combine and fried it. I have my fingers crossed for him, but don't think this will end well...especially in the wilds of Alaska.
