Buying a 1998 american tradition 40tvs

Any help on what to expect comments please good bad erc
  • OK....Ill take a stab at this question since I have owned a 1996 for roughly 15-16 years now. The first few years I owned the Vogue, other than new tires, I didn't have many expenses. In saying that, of course since I didn't have records, I changed all the fluids, all the belts, all the filters and hoses pertaining to the engine(radiator). Keep in mind you need to do this to the Generator too. Much of this is straight forward and can be accomplished by yourself(FilterBarn.com) is your friend.

Over the next 10 years, I have replaced most house items (ie) air conditioners, water heater, residential refer, replaced alternator. I did new floor both wood and tile, I've changed my seating within the living room area. Knock on wood, I have had NO major mechanical issues other than just last year, I had to have my Transmission Control Unit rebuilt...here again, do your homework and good prices can be found.(I'll add this, many shops quote you thousands of dollars to rebuilt the control unit....495.00 from a guy in Texas and it works Great).

I am always working on the RV(My Vogue)but it's generally just busy work. To Sum it up, I Love this motorhome! They most definately do not make them as solid as they did back in the 90's...for this I have No doubt. Would I love to have four slides, sure, but I'd be trading alot of quality in on a tin can..IMHO
