Both the buyer and the seller need to do certain paperwork. Your seller should take care of everything on his end and you should contact your DMV and your insurance company for information on what is needed to complete the transaction and drive your vehicle to your home state. It shouldn't be this complicated for you. People do it all the time but no two states are alike. Good luck!
