At 20 years you start running into part issues since the auto companies have no need to stock OEM's anymore. This may explain why there is the price difference.
Also short Class A's do ride badly, at least the one's I've been in. They are not on a van chassis like most in this size range. I have no idea what causes the bad ride.
Just wondering where you are at on all of this? I know you gave up on that Flair, are you OK with NADA yet?
