- SweetWaterSurprExplorerHad our Wrangler in the enclosed trailer last time. This trip we have our AutoMoto scooter in tow
- Coach-manExplorerBehind our Sprinter, we towed a Ford C-Max Hybrid, it was over the rating, (3,500 lbs) at about 4,200 lbs. but was no problem for the Benz diesel and tranny!
- Gonzo42ExplorerBe aware that the Rav4 is a front wheel drive unit and may not be towable four down, but could be towed on a dolly.
- JerseydevilExplorerAll, Thanks for responding. Glad to see many options are out there.
Did not see if anyone had any luck with Toyota Rav4?? - derh20ExplorerWith all the advice being given, since you want an automatic, your choices will be limited for vehicles that can be towed 4-down. It is a must that you check the owner's manual to ensure the vehicle you choose can be towed 4-down. We have a 2012 Ford Focus automatic.
- DouglasCExplorerI have towed a 2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid, a 2012 Ford Focus and currently tow a 2012 Ford Fusion hybrid behind my Class C motorhome. All towed well!
Another good choice for a toad is the Ford C Max. This vehicle is a hybrid, which, like all Ford hybrids does not require any battery cable disconnects or fuses to be removed before towing. - rockhillmanorExplorer II

Thanks for the question, and all the great answers. If I could piggy back on this... I'd like to fit three kids, drive an automatic, and do some for wheeling when we add a toad. Other than a CRV, any other recommendations that are easy on the easiest? Let's say under 25k. Thanked much.
Used 4x4 4 door 'Chevy' Tracker. Emphasis on the 'chevy' part. They went thru a ton of ownership changes with this model from suzuki, GEO,side kick.
My Chevy Tracker was the best! I bought it used because I wasn't sure about towing a toad. Thought I'd test the waters. Well she followed me everywhere when I went full time. Seats 5 and with the seats down tons of storage and real lightweight. Had to use the 4x4 a couple of times glad I had it. IMHO the perfect little toad.
Too bad you didn't post earlier I just sold her for more than what I paid for her includkng the cost of setting it up to tow! :W - SoCalDesertRid1Explorer II
