2002 Holiday Rambler Ambassador - the front heater blows hot air in the windsheild defrost setting but does not blow in the other settings like chest and floor.... any suggestions at all?
Your vacuum pump is up front on the firewall... probably a Ford diesel PU one. Make sure it's getting power if you cannot hear it running. If running all the time, find the vacuum leak... hose off or hole in the small lines.
X3 on the vacuum problem. My old '94 Bounder DP had the pump on the inside of the frame rail way back just in front of the engine so it was a bear to find. The vacuum stuff was sort of hidden. I could hear the pump rattling for a couple years before it went out, and that's when my heater only blew in defrost mode. Cost was $150 I think?
Don't know about your particular model, but a lot of vehicles use blend doors that are powered by individual actuator motors these actuators have a tendency to fail, causing problems much like yours.
