I took a 37 foot motorhome to Kennedy Meadow once. That's a point a few miles from the west where the road narrows. Kennedy Meadows is where the 26% grade starts on the west side and some of the hairpin turns start. Sonora pass is beautiful.....but I would never take my motorhome up there. There are just to many blind turns where you have to go over the white line..and if someone is coming the opposite direction you have a very good chance of damaging your motorhome. If I could be guaranteed of no traffic, I'd do it...but that won't ever happen. I was raised in that country and remember a 18 wheeler coming from the east that was told to take that pass....he made it, but thought he was going to die LOL. The road is very narrow (two lanes) but narrow from Clarkes Fork turnoff till over at the Marine Base with lots of huge rocks proturding from hillsides, hit one of those and it would certainly make a mess of a motorhome.
