Camera on our 2011 Forest River Class c motor home

Has anyone where had to replace there camera on there motor home. Our has just stopped working it is in the mirror. We would like to replace it but we dont know if it is mirror or the camera that has stopped working. They sell back up cameras but we need one just to keep a eye on the tow car when traveling. Can you buy a camera that we can replace the old one and have a wire less one sitting on the dashthat we could just turn on every once inwhile to make sure tow car is there.
  • I purchased a wireless one, and mounted it to view out the rear window. Have a remote wireless switch for the 12V power to the camera, the monitor sits on the dash. I can turn it off and one when ever I want.
  • I installed a Kenwood double-din radio with backup camera in my Class-C Chevy dash, best money I've spent on it, so far. It is wired... not wireless.

When mine crapped out on my Forester, I replaced it with a wireless, the one that came on my '07 was no longer made, so the wireless was the best option so rewiring wouldn't be required.
  • mine works fine.

where did you get the wireless ones from
I got it from a dealer that worked on my RV, they installed it under my extended warranty.
  • Had to move mine since the installer put it too low and was blocked by the bike rack. Ended up frying the camera resplicing the wires, bought a new one from amazon, relocated it and it works just fine now. hardwired to deck in front. Drilling holes in a 20 yr old motorhome isn't as painful as doing it to a brand new one :)
