We have stayed at Bear Creek and weren't impressed. Sites are very tight and difficult to get into. Also had the problem with the laundry wait times. We also stayed at Mama Gerties and although a beautiful park, it sits on a steep hill (sites are level) and walking around the park is not feasible for people like us with bad knees. Had to take the toad to the office where showers were located at the bottom of the hill. Due to the hill, getting into our site we scraped bottom and tore off our mud flap and we only have a 33' RV. They do have new sites on the top of the mountain that look awesome. We prefer the KOA in Swannanoa. Not fancy but easier to get in. We got a back in site facing the creek and with nobody in the sites on the creek we had a nice view. Some road noise.
