Heres the scoop:
The campground isn't in the 21st century yet. No credit cards???? Heck you can get a scanner for a cellphone now very easily.
So you know that the majority of their income is not reported. So records are sparse or non existent to say the least.
A lawn chair with a rock on it to keep it from blowing away would have kept your spot secure. Simple stuff.
Like you, I would have been POed if it happened to me. But I spend my time complaining about the fuel prices and the government.
And how do you know some of their income is not reported? Foolish statement on your part. We no longer accept credit cards at my shop as we were losing to much money in fee's for everything. I never had it happen to us but it is way to easy for some moron wanting something for nothing to dispute a charge and you would be out that money also. Cash works well and with receipt books and work orders it is not easy to hide anything. I also have had only 2 bounced checks. One from a lawyer and another from a long time customer, both made good. I think I will keep all those fee's in my pocket. As for your remark about not turning in money if you don't take a credit card you are calling a lot of people dishonest thief's you don't know.
