camping at the stampede
Planning the Calgary Stampede for 2015 and need some input for camping in Calgary. Any help would be appreciated.

- I think you are smart doing your homework now. And do your reservations now. We went there during the Stampede, not knowing anything about it and wound up driving to Edmonton before we found a campground with space.
We also learned about Canada Day on that trip. Never heard of that before either. It's like our 4th of July and EVERYBODY and his brother is camping.
Live and learn..... - We stayed at Bow River too this year. Drove 20 minutes to the light rail station along AB-1 and took it to the stampede as parking near it is very difficult and expensive.
- We stayed at the lion's club campground in Cochrane Alberta. It is called Bow Rivers Edge, very nice well kept park, about a 1/2 hr away from Calgary.
Would highly recommend it
