Camping in National Parks

I am needing to know where to camp in a 40' motorhome in Grant Teton NP, Yellowstone NP, and Glacier NP.
Thank you!

  • In regards to Yellowstone and Grand Teton, we've stayed at Fishing Bridge (center of Yellowstone) and drove to Grand Teton. Depending on what you want to do, we found that a couple of days driving down to Grand Tetons was plenty of time. We even spent time in Jackson hole while driving to Grad Teton.
  • Colter Bay in Grand Tetons - full hookups, plenty of big rig sites. Nice shady spots.

Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone - Full hookups, sites are big enough, but be aware that the parking slots back up between the two units behind you. So the back of the big rigs are very close together, like 3-4 feet apart. But it's the only one in park with hookups. We liked it because it's most convenient to all parts of the park.

At Glacier, we couldn't find anything inside the park to fit. Find a private campground outside the park. There's several on both sides.
  • Spent 2 weeks at Colter Bay RV Park in Grand Teton this summer. Your 40 footer will have no problem there as well as a toad. Full hook ups with 50amp. water & sewer. Easy drive from there to Yellowstone.
  • We have a 40' motorhome. We have stayed many times in Yellowstone at Mammoth, Madison and Bridge Bay campgrounds. In the Tetons we stay at either Colter Bay campground (not the RV park next door) or at Gros Ventre campground. In Glacier we've stayed at Apgar. All are IN the parks.
  • There's also a very nice KOA in St. Mary at the east entrance to Glacier Park
  • We need a list of National Parks that can handle a 40ft MH
  • We enjoyed our stay in Colter Bay RV Campground in Grand Teton National Park. Full hookups in the park. Full hookups at Fishing Bridge Campground inside Yellowstone, but the spaces are very close together. Camping in the park made it worth being crowded. The KOA just outside the west entrance to Glacier National Park was the best KOA we have ever visited. Have a great trip.
