Can the location be changed? Or is it permanently fixed? I see some MHs that I like, but all of them have gens in the back, in the BR area, which is a deal-breaker for us.If we bought a rear gen gasser, is it possible to move it to another location in the MH?

All it takes is money and a location big enough.

Anything "can" be done but easily? No. You would have to find a suitable space somewhere else that could accommodate it, you can't just put it in another bin as it requires open space, you'd likely have to build some framework to support it, re-route or fabricate the exhaust, heat insulate it, make sure it can breathe, re-run the wires - likely having to buy a lot of wire, re run the fuel line etc etc. So yes it can be, but it's not as simple unbolting it and moving it. Usually they put them where it makes the most sense in relation to everything else. You'd almost be better off removing it, selling it and getting a portable gen you can place on the ground. Of course then you wouldn't have power travelling.

As above, anything is possible with enough money. All you have to do is remove a basement compartment, build a steel frame, extend the electrical power and fuel lines to the new location, and hope for the best. My coach has the generator in the middle of the coach so I am sure that if you look long enough you can probably find one with the generator in a different location. Of course this does not guaranty that it will still be quiet even if it is moved 15 feet away. Perhaps you would spend less money modifying the generator and generator compartment to quiet the unit to an acceptable level. After all, gasoline automobile engines can hardly be heard when they are running.
