- stevewiseExplorerI use one all the time when pulling the 5er, depending upon where you are in the country depends how many people use it. In the Kentucky area a lot of truckers use it down in Florida not so many, they are good when traffic problems arise.
- FreightguyExplorerI use mine all the time and find it a valuable resource.
- ferndaleflyerExplorer IIII have one in everything----I-95 is not a good place to be without one!

I have mine on whenever the vehicle is moving. I can't remember the last time I heard "much profanity". Its not like the old days.
bumpy - hypoxiaExplorerI use it travelling in groups and to Mexico. No cellular service in mountains and it is much quicker than calling on a phone.

Still use mine, and have used it for many years.
Over 40 years here running with one. CW McCall days and all. 10-4 good buddy.... - Skid_Row_JoeExplorer

The "which lane is best thing" has all changed. The advisory is to stay in which ever lane, since they both should merge at the lane closure for the greatest ease in time of all vehicles merging to fewer lanes. Old thinking used to be; get in the through lane, then drive-by all those unfortunate enough to be in the closed lane(s). It's all changed for the better. Just stay in your lane - no need to outmaneuver those in closed lanes, because the closed lanes are faster because of the rush to get into the looong line of vehicles in the through lane.;)
We have a CB in the coach and I don't hear many using it. It does come in handy if the freeway traffic comes to screeching halt. It helps to find out from the truckers which lane is best to be in since we are 65 ft. long and need a little room to merge. - IvylogExplorer III

Ours is always on because it is a weather alert monitor as we'll as CB. Keep the squelch up to where I only hear transmissions from the immediate area unless looking for traffic info.
X2
One late night coming across Kansas (the two best ways to see Kansas is at night or at 30,000') I was able to draft a semi who would let me know when to back off because of traffic (got 8 instead of 7 mpg). Talked RVing and such until he turned off and headed to TX. Unfortunately there's too much profanity on it today.
And the best snippet of a conservation on the CB ten years ago..."In the bible it does not say Adam and Steve". - wa8yxmExplorer IIII run with 2 CB's on (13 and 19) The 13, well when I hear something there is a danger of my running off the road due to loosing control by going into shock (Ok, I'm kidding) but the 19 one has saved me much grief when some 10T type did something stupid on the road ahead and the police had to shut 'er down for a few hours.. A few hours where i enjoied a nice meal, set up for the night and rested, while others watched their blood pressure increase.
And there is the occasional Convoy as Chip Davis's alter Eco called it. - Mike_TavernitiExplorerI love my CB and will always have it on when towing around this beautiful country.
