Cedar Key Florida

We visited Cedar Key last January when we stayed in Crystal River at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park. Cool spot to go for a few days. Not much around there if you are looking for anything else. We also went to a quilt shop on that day trip.

I have done a lot of fishing along that area. Its an area of rich green grass flats and crystal clear water. No nearby big cities to polute it. The village itself is relatively small and quaint and the seafood is very good. The Crystal River area does have much better RV parks and unless you rent a guide or boat a day trip is enough. Going south from there Crystal River, Homasassa, Chasawistka and WeekiWachi all have deep clear springs for swimming, tubing and Manatee and fish to see.

Cedar Key is a quaint little fishing village that has had pier front stores restored. Definitely a place to visit. We normally stay at Crystal River and drive over to Cedar Key for a day trip (55 miles). Crystal River has a lot more to offer as far as Resturants, and sites to visit. We normally stay at Rock Crusher http://www.rockcrushercanyon.com/ but there are other RV Parks that are suitable. http://naturecoastlandings.com/ is another we have stayed at and enjoyed.
