ceiling material got wet

While driving in a heavy windy rain storm the roof a/c unit developed a leak that allowed the water to enter the interior roof. Had no drips or running water but it got the area around the a/c intake to become soaked. It dried up but now the ceiling is showing signs of the wetted area. What can I do to remove that dicoloration? Will contact a carpet cleaning company today and ask them but wondered if anyone here has dealt with this issue.

Better fix the AC leak soon to avoid any more. If you have the carpet type ceiling which we have, my wife got most of our stains out using a scrub brush
along with 409. Hope this works for you.

Did similar cleanup using scrub brush and Resolve Upholstery Multi Fabric Cleaner. Whatever you use test it in a area that will not be seen.
