Sprint will unlock your phone to accept international SIM cards. There is no charge to do this. You do lose your number however. My work around for international travel is to rent a toll free number (~$5 month), forward my main number to the toll-free number, then forward my toll free number to whichever international SIM number I'm using. Its MUCH cheaper than just using your regular roaming plan.
