He was referring to the cabinet doors - looks like the upper cabinet doors are red - either painted or it's a laminate. Strange considering the wood framing. I think they just tried to do this "prototype" on the cheap. It would have been much cooler if they either did all-color cabinetry, or did some kind of metal/aluminum cabinetry with the colored doors.
