Checking for leaks after heavy rain in Georgia

I have a 2014 tioga ranger 25g...we have had some heavy rain for the last week...today was a warm sunny day...so I did my leak check and found the cabover deck on the right front side wet.So I was resealing along the side, roof edge and did the left also...and with the fan running and overhead cushion removed it is dried out and ready for the rain...If it gets wet again after the predicted rain this week. ... I plan to get an appointment to get a Seal Tech and see if the r.v. shop can find the leak...anyone else used Seal Tech?
  • After investing in a A-frame 10 foot ladder...and looking at the left side of cabover vs right side of my 2014 tioga...I came to the conclusion that as my Class C was rolling down the assembly line there was a man (or woman) who decided to take his or her job more serious than the person on the right side while sealing the seams and screw heads...and no one checked for quality control....anyway I resealed ...so far the overhead deck is still dry ...but we have one more rain coming ..so even though you have a 2 year old r.v. check it for leaks...book says every 6 months..hope this helps other r.v.'ers....

It is hard to really look at the side seam laying on the roof and hanging your head over the side especially if your like me approaching 70!!
  • thank goodness there is only one small window on the left side of overhead...and all is dry on left and I am sitting on level concrete...I had a Lance camper with front windows...one giant leak
  • rv world of georgia in Buford is 260 now...hope I have found the leak..we shall see..thanks..
  • Before you run of to spend money. In heavy downpours many times the water comes in thru the weep holes. The window track weep holes can't keep up with the water flow. AND if your RV is not perfectly level the side that is lower will get even more water making it even harder for the weep holes to keep up.

That's what I discovered. And actually while I was parked in it and watching the water come in all I had to do was level up the MH and it stopped.
  • I used the similar test and it was well worth the money ( $100.00 at the time ) as I had chased leaks for several months..Good Luck
