Maybe they are work campers just trying to figure things out. And the reason they don't just take your money and let you go is because they need to give you a receipt as it's more than likely required by the boss who more than likely has a camera watching them. Why do they have to give you a receipt? Because that means the computer registered the transaction and they have to put the money in the drawer so the balance will match. If they just take your money and let you go then they could just put the money in their pocket. That's why they need to figure it out.
