Interesting feedback..........here's how I handled both situations. I was relaxed, I was very calm, even joked a little with them......again, it wasn't a question of finishing the transaction and getting a receipt.....I didn't get a receipt. In the first case, all they had to do is hand me the key and they could have continued on with trying to input the computer. In the second case, she had taken my money, put it in the drawer, taken out my change and had it in her hand then tried to figure out the computer input. Could have easily given me my change and sent me on my way. Growing up in retail, we never put the money in the till, until the transaction was done........that way the customer couldn't claim they gave you a $50 when the $20 was still visible. Again, I'm just venting, I'm relaxed, and enjoying my trip. I don't care if a person makes minimum wage or $100.00 an hour......it all boils down to self worth, NOT being RUDE, and customer service. I'm betting most people given the same circumstances would have boiled over, but I'm on vacation LOL Ok, done venting LOL.
