My biggest pet peeve is when I'm dealing with a customer and HIS/HER phone rings and THEY answer it. Instead of ignoring it or putting the person on hold they have a conversation and ignore me!
Saw a sign in a post office:
"WE WILL GLADLY HELP THE PERSON BEHIND YOU WHILE YOU COMPLETE YOUR PHONE CALL !"
