In the great discussion of gas versus diesel I haven't come upon any comments regarding the use of either the Cummins/Powerstroke/Duramax units mounted in front from either the performance perspective or cost/benefits as opposed to the rear diesel units. It seems to me that either this option or a future diesel electric hybrid may eventually power many of these units. My wife and I are presently researching a Class A purchase and in talking to one salesman he inferred such a powertrain could be optioned for his unit for about $10K even though it is not even listed in the literature. It seems the hp and torque would be equivalent or better then most if not all of the present gas engines.
