Putting my oar in the water....:B
It really comes down to how you're going to use the RV. In our case it was to fit into National Parks and National/state forest campgrounds. So we only wanted around a 32' motor home. We would have have a slide but the drivers seat couldn't go back far enough with the slide retracted. Since the RV had the 275hp v10, I opted to have the Banks intake/exhaust kit installed. That in itself really helped when going up grades. Yes, at 4500 rpm it's kinda noisy, but after driving my Subaru at 6500rpm through the gears, it wasn't too bad (especially when I could surprise some diesel RV drivers :B) when towing the Subaru.
We've had our RV for 10 years. It now has about 68,000 miles. The gel coat is hard to keep shiny, but the aluminum is holding up well. Everything works, etc.. It would be nice to have a slide or two, but I don't know if they are really necessary since we don't spend 3 months in the same place, yet.
