cig smell removal how

buddy bought a rv smells of cig smoke any way to remove the odor?
  • When my great Aunt was in an assisted living home, they used one of those ozone machines to rid the rooms of odor. (older people have accidents). It seemed to work well.

But I can tell you one thing, I would have never walked near that coach if it was a smoker's coach. That smell not only gets in the furniture/walls/fabrics/curtains, it's also gets in the air filters for the dash and roof air units. In my opinion, it can never get fully removed. I would have passed on that unit, JMO.

    I wish him luck!
    MM.
  • You might try a product called Odor Ban. Seems to work pretty well.
  • If it has a cloth based ceiling material, I doubt you'll ever get it out. The ozone generator is your best alternative though. Good Luck.
  • I tried an ozone machine once and it removed the smell for 24 hours (which is why car dealers use it just before you pick it up). As someone said, remove everything porous and paint everything that isn't.
  • Have a friend who accidently left a raw pork roast in the trunk of his car for a couple days. After a good cleaning the smell was still there. He used an ozone machine and it took care of most of the smell.
  • take every thing porous, cloth, etc. out of it and destroy it. he bought it, he is stuck with it. I remember the Newmar dealer, star something, in Elkhart had a beautiful unit many years back and they tried everything, cept for exorcism, and couldn't get the stink out. could have gotten a great RV very cheap if you could stand the stench.

  • Go rent an ozone generator. That is what the dealers do. A small one left overnight in an empty coach should take care of everything.
We have used them to remove smoke odors from structures that had a fire.
