Well, I can see with all the negative criticism that most of you don't have a clue to the point of my OP.
The ONLY thing that is accomplished by detaching the Toad is that I can back up if I need to; if there is not a perfect line that can be taken that allows for only forward motion (like a 3-point turn).
In my opinion, and it is obvious that not many (if any) will agree, that being able to drive the route without backing demonstrates better driver skill then someone who doesn't understand the angles and HAS to back up because they did not get it right.
When I read the above posts, I can not understand how I am being any more dangerous to other peoples property by leaving the toad attached and driving the perfect line. In fact, from my side of the screen I read that if YOU can not drive the perfect line, then you are a risk to MY property (I'm here too you know).
I think that if you do not have the skills to simply drive the perfect line, and that you have to jockey back and forth, you are a bigger risk of damage driver then I am.
Sheesh ... I'm shaking my head in disbelief. This is ONE campground, ONE of many locations, like gas stations, grocery stores, etc. where knowing how to maneuver the perfect line keeps you from HAVING to back up because it wasn't done right going forward the first time.
ON EDIT:
So I am perfectly clear on my position:
RV person with BIG RV drives into registration parking. Exits the vehicle and heads into the office.
Now:
1)Person walks out of office and walks a route to a site; then walks back to RV. Person drives RV directly to site without issue. Person unhooks toad at site (pull through is long enough with toad attached).
2)Person walks out of office and heads to the RV to unhook toad. Person drives RV to site, but has to jockey back and forth several times around most of the corners.
3)Person walks out of office and walks a route to a site. Person then walks back to RV to unhook toad. Person drives RV to site, but has to jockey back and forth on one particularly tight corner.
I know in the above examples my choice of who is the better driver.
