Class A motor home windshield keeps poping out

We are new to Rving.
We bought a 2006 class A Hurricane 33H (Gas).
It has a 2 pc windshield and the passenger side bottom corner keeps poping out. Every time we drive it we have to pay to have it put back in.
I live in Camdenton MO. does any one know what could cause this and where I can take it to get it fixed rite so we can enjoy going Rving.
Thanks in advance for your info

Maybe if it is fixed to be rigid, it will crack from stress. Mine comes out at the corner, I made a tool like the glass man uses, you can buy from the Snap-On truck. Reseating the rubber and glass is easy. At least it works for me.

  • About 6 years ago the windshields on our 96 Southwind were starting to pull out of the frames.

A local RV dealer sent me to a glass shop. They pulled both windshields, cleaned the mounting area and reinstalled them using the original rubber seals.

The techs at the glass shop told me not enough sealant was used when the windshields were installed at the factory.
The glass shop used enough sealant. It's been thousands of miles and no problems or leaks around the windshields.

Check with some RV dealers and see who they recommend for windshield repair & replacement.
  • Both windshields need to be removed and put back in by someone who knows how to aline them right. We had that problem until we found an auto/RV glass place in Florida that redid both windshields last year and no problems since.

What they told me when it happened to me is that the person who cut the windshield opening was supposed to use a straight edge,, You straith like this: |

    Not a French Curve )

They re-cut and installed new glass.. Still popped out again but took much longer this time.. I put a pair or retainers on it (Top and bottom) and the problem is now .. Replacing the straps every few years.
  • In many states your insurance pays for windshield replacements at no cost to you. If the rubber gasket that fits between the window frame and glass is aged to a point where it has been weakened from the required strength to bind the glass to the frame it has to be replaced. The other cause could be the frame was damaged by an accident and is not shaped to take the glass and rubber binder as required for the tight fit. First check to see if insurance covers it, then call the glass company that serves your area and ask for an analysis of the situation from their experts.
  • They had problems with this because the manufacture cut the hole to big. Find a windshield shop that has worked on this problem so the fix it right other wise it will continue to happen.
