We like the front door in our diesel pusher. It allows more wall space in the living area for chair and table. Ours has a powered step well cover to close when driving. Others I have seen have one that is manual. I use the foot rest 100% of the time so not a big deal for the step well to be open. No problem with groceries. Someone stands outside and hands them inside to the other person. They do make DP's with mid entry doors.
