What would they consider a classic GMC MH. They have 2 axles on the rear with single tires on each and front wheel drive. They weigh around 12,000#. They are gas.
It is only for diesel fuel - dogvetiaExplorerwell for what its worth, we fueled in Indiana with our motorhome on a truck island and was charged 28 cents a gallon above the posted price since we did not have a DOT number. Most likely the truckers are able to get a little better deal while the motoring public pays a bit more. Not complaining but just did not understand so obviously this is the last time I fuel in Indiana with a MH. Did not try to get into a car island but they may have similar rules. Any input from Indiana residents? tom

- Bob_AnnaMarieExplorerThanks for the info on this. It would be nice if there was some sign on the pumps that would warn you about this. We were very fortunate on our last trip through Arizona (and that is all I am going to say about it).
But, I will make sure to be careful where I fuel in that state. It is just that when you are East of Yuma you have a choice between some unknown brand at the Flying-J station or a Standard station right across the street. Who would know that the Standard station is off-limits to a rig with a tag? And it has nothing to do with trying to avoid any taxes.
And I thought CA had a corner on the stupid laws. - dodge_guyExplorer IISo they are taxing you twice? Once on the registered license weight and then again on the fuel tax for driving the same weight vehicle you already paid the road tax on? Soumds like someone slipped a fuel tax bill in with some other laws to be passed!

- gboppExplorerI bet he only made that mistake one time. Ouch.
- darsbenExplorer IIIt is a PUBLISHED LAW. Ignorance of the law ..... come on you know the rest.
If you go to the higher taxed pumps and you should not the service station is supposed to give an immediate refund to you.
Please notice that in the article the man was warned that he was at the wrong pump. He thought he knew more than the clerk.
WELL HE WAS WRONG
In addition there was a sticker on the pump but it was small according to him - Francesca_KnowlExplorerLooks to me like the fine isn't for "fueling at the wrong pump", but for avoiding the extra road tax (.08 per gallon) required of vehicles over 26,000 pounds or with three or more axles.
Sounds like that reg's been around for quite awhile in Arizona; and as I see it, really no different than getting caught elsewhere using untaxed off road diesel in a highway vehicle.
