We have a 27 foot Tioga 26Q, have never towed, have never felt the need. If you do social camping with a group and need to trade rides to local sites and restaurants, a toad may seem necessary. You can rent a car to tour Boston, take shuttle bus to tourist areas, take tour buses. We try to do all last-minute shopping for supplies on the way, but it only takes 5 minutes to unhook and run into town. Seldom have problem parking close to a restaurant. I use my take-apart mobility scooter if needed. Contrast this with complication, etc., of taking a toad. You can also use toad when desired or leave it home when not.
