Thanks for the pix. I was thinking that awnings would be ugly, I was wrong, I really like the looks on your rig.

A few days ago my DW suggested we get window awnings, I thought it was a good idea. This is a very timely post. Thanks.

We have a window awning on the drivers side just about the length of the slide, which is the dinette and sofa windows. It came with our used rig and I wondered how much we'd use it. Turns out we've used it a lot so far! With such a warm summer that we've had, it really helped keep it cooler inside.

We have awning on 4 windows. Like how well the keep sun out. They also work well when it rains. But as already mentioned, They do block the view. When I need new awning fabric. I will be using a fabric like Solar Shade that allow some view while blocking the sun.

I have an awning on the streetside MBR window (which is my side) I like how it blocks the morning sun and gives some privacy

We just bought from a salvage store (New in box) an awning for our dinette window, driver side. When the sun is on that side...WOW, it is hot. We have our patio awning on the passenger side. (given to us=free, poles from the junkyard)The dinette awning, 5' I believe, cost us 150$.

We've been thinking about a window awning for the large street-side window over the dinette. Would be nice to be able to open it and have a way to keep out the rain. Tinting just wouldn't work...we love the daylight coming in. Having a window awning over the kitchen and bedroom window that are curb-side might be a good idea, too. DH doesn't like having the patio awning open if it's very windy, I have to agree...and there may be times we don't want the big awning when it gets a lot cooler (here in VA I think we could nearly camp year-round:)).

We have a window awning on the large window over the couch on the drivers side. Love it and use it often. On the Airstream we had and on two of my friends trailers we took a used big awning and cut it down making long off side awning to cover the complete side from the sun. It worked like a std. window awning. Meaning you pulled it down and hooked it to lower it and unhooked and let it go up. Those are great if you spend a lot of time setting in the sun.

I like window awnings far more than tint. Tint thats dark enough to block out the sun just turns your nice light inside into a dark hole often needing lights during a nice day. Awnings give you a chance to choose on the cloudy, darker days. They also let you keep the window open when its raining.

Was at the gdaughters housewarming party yesterday afternoon,was telling the son in law about my thought of putting awnings all the way around. He liked the idea, then made a suggestion that he buddy come down and install window tint.His buddy does this for a living. Does excellent work. The son in law said that he thought his buddy could do all the windows of the coach and the drivers and passenger door for between 300-400 buck. Well I like that. I know its always there, that is ok. Never have to open and close awnings, always be able to SEE out,won't unfurl going down the road.Then the son in law said that his buddy could install a tint that would have a reflective surface out, to further reduce the sun heating up the coach.
What would you all prefer AWNINGS or TINTED WINDOWS?
Now have to think about this.
The tint is always there, were as the awnings would be up in the retracted position, which would be good on a cloudy I guess. GGGEEEZZZZ, another decision to make.

I have a small 22 C and installed a window awning on the street side to cut down on the heat from the sun, the right side has an awning that covers the door and the big window and part of the rear window.

Yes they are worth the money, I plan to tint the windows also.
