The 2015 and newer Ford gassers have a tow rating of 7500 lbs sovling your problem but you want to stay diesel. I'm not close to buying but have been researching similary issues and I've just about talked myself into a smaller (32' or so) Class A diesel pusher. Unlike you, I do need to sleep four but I don't want the tight cargo capacity of the C's.
