  • It was a Tiger motorhome. I can't figure out why they were driving on the shoulder at an exit...

Possibly the motorhome driver fell asleep? Or the driver could have been thinking they were following the truck on the shoulder?
It doesn't appear the driver braked, but it's difficult to see from the picture. Obviously the driver did not swerve, there was sufficient room.
Regardless, it's a very tragic crash.
  • More likely, the Tiger driver was "hypnotized" by staring at the rear end of the semi for many miles. As a single RVer, I pull into rest areas on expressways, just to get out, walk around and stretch. If there's an attendant at the rest area, I ask about any problems ahead of me.
I also plan my overnights about 300-350 miles apart. A tired or bored driver is a dangerous driver to himself and others.
